THE VOLCANO CHAIN FROM ICELAND 2013

6th grade from Flataskóli in Iceland

Dear partners
Here is the chain from Iceland this year. We are going to call it „Volcano“ because we life on a volcano island, so if we are not getting an eruption naturally we make it ourselves. Viktor, one of our boys, got that excellent idea to make an eruption chain and it cost a lot of speculations about how to fix it and you can see the result on the video. We put baking soda, water, red colour and soap into the “mountain” and the vinegar in the bowl made the volcano erupt. We made our chain over and over again until we managed to let it work through the whole way and we are very proud of our little volcano chain J
Greetings from 6th grade in Iceland and their teachers

  1. Yes, you can be very proud of your chain!
It is a great achievement to make it run through in one go.
    Congratulations on that!

I especially liked the different materials and structures in your chain.

It is great to see the kids in the process of creating their chain reaction.

  8. Hello from Scotland!

What a great idea to create the volcano at the end- and it's not the first time we have seen this idea in one of your videos! ;-))

We thought you obviously put in a great deal of work to this, and it deserves to do very well!
    Good luck!
